It is officially spring! I was born and raised in Southern California where we don’t really have seasons and the weather is nice year round, but I still say spring is my favorite season ;). The air is cleaner, the hills are greener, and there is just a spirit of freshness and newness that I love.
So, to mark the start of spring, I wanted to create a Bible journaling page with flowers and a watering can. I decided to do something a little differently than I normally do and go for a more whimsical look. I used my Tombow Fudenosuke brush pen to draw the design on my page first, and then just colored it in with watercolors! (You could also use a Micron pen. – Both Microns and the Fudenosuke are waterproof and do not bleed through a journaling Bible page. I highly recommend them!)
I freehanded my design, but I also made a quick printable of the same design that you can use if you don’t feel comfortable freehanding!

Materials Used
- Free “Watered Garden” Printable
- ESV Interleaved Bible
- Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor Set
- Tombow Fudenosuke Brush Pen (Link is to a pack of three types of Fudenosukes. – They all work in the same way and I use them interchangeably. I used the dual tip for this page.)
- Micron Pen (Microns are a great alternative to the fudenosuke. They have a normal felt tip, which will give you lines with one thickness. The fudenosuke has a bendable tip, so the width of your lines will vary depending on the amount of pressure you apply)
- Craft Heat Gun
- Small Round Paintbrush (Link is to a variety pack of brushes that I use and like, though I use any cheap synthetic brushes I can find.)
