Years ago I went on a trip with my parents to the south of France and Spain. I remember strolling along the streets of Aix-en-Provence and there being little buckets of lavender in nearly every shop we went to. My Mom had wanted to go to the famous lavender fields, but the rest of us thought that would be boring… I know, now that I’m older (and turning into my Mom), I so wish we went!
My reason in telling you this is because I often am asked how I choose what to Bible journal, or what I use for inspiration. Sometimes I am inspired by the imagery in the verse itself, like my colorful lion page. Other times I’m inspired by something I find online, like my bubble painting page. But often memories, like the lavender in France, pop into my mind and I use that as my Bible journaling inspiration! I find that these pages, though simple, like the lavender page above, often end up being some of my favorite pages because of the extra meaning behind it!

- Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor Set
- Tombow Fudenosuke Brush Pen
- Unibal Signo White Gel Pen
- Micron Pen (To underline the verse, though you can also use the Fudenosuke to do this- both pens are waterproof. You also can wait to underline your verse until you finish with painting, and use your favorite pen of choice.)
- Craft Heat Gun
- Small Round Paintbrush, and 1/4″-1/2″ Flat Paintbrush (Link is to a variety pack of brushes that I use and like, though I use any cheap synthetic brushes I can find.)
