One of the special things about Bible journaling is that we are able to document the happenings of our lives in the pages of our Bible.
The last year, since I started the Bible for my baby, I have been more intentional about digging deeper into my heart when Bible journaling, and sharing tidbits about what is happening in my life in the margins. It’s so fun and meaningful looking back and seeing notes like “Clark is 3 months old! He is a happy boy and loves to smile at his parents”.
The best part about adding
Last month we had to put our dear cat, Kona, down after a long battle with different health issues.
We had gotten him while we were stationed in Japan. He was a stray at the nearby Army base. We knew when we took him in that he was at least 10 years old, and that our time would be more limited. But what we didn’t know at the time, was how much of an impact an old, fat, cat would have on our family in just three years!
Kona was there for me from the very beginning of my marriage, through living in a foreign country, and being alone through multiple deployments. He was there as I struggled to find my purpose and calling the whole two years in Japan until I started this blog and ministry!
He came back to the States with us (along with our other cat, Shuga), and was there as we struggled to conceive, eventually got pregnant, had our baby, and moved again.
He was just such a special part of our family. And so, those few days after his death were really hard for me. I decided I needed to create a Bible journaling page dedicated to him.
This Bible journaling page is one of the most special pages I have created. The peace that God gave me while creating it was something I hadn’t felt in a long time. It not only helped me grieve, but also provided me such amazing time with God.
I was nervous to share this page because it is just so personal to me. But today I decided to finally share because I hope that it will provide inspiration for your own Bible journaling!
My takeaway: God is so good through all things. I am incredibly blessed by the people and creatures he has put in my life.

Because this page is so personal, I don’t expect you to want to create a page just like mine. But I do hope it inspires you! Tracing an image and transferring it to your journaling Bible is easier than it may seem! You of course, can use any image! It doesn’t need to be a pet, just something/someone that is special to you.
Check out the video below to watch the process.
I used my iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil to create my traceable. But you can easily use any image, print it out to your prefered size, and trace it using tracing paper! If your markings on the tracing paper are thick (use a dark marker), you should be able to stick it under your Bible page and still see the markings. Just trace over that onto your Bible page!
