Alrighty, the last few weeks we used forks, bubble wrap and plastic wrap, and q-tips in our Bible; and now we are getting even crazier (I’m talking super funky) and using VEGETABLES to create fun Bible journaling pages!
To be honest, I wasn’t sure I wanted to share this blog post! The pages I created didn’t turn out the way I wanted them to, and I know this idea of using vegetables is totally bonkers! I also feel like by putting this out there I’m risking criticism, which always makes me nervous. But then I was talking to my mom yesterday, and she reminded me that in order to succeed we need to take some risks.
So if this idea is a little too “out there” for you, that’s okay! My hope with this whole exercise of using household objects is really to inspire you to try new things and push yourself outside of your comfort zone. – And most of all, I want to remind you to HAVE FUN when Bible journaling and ENJOY the time spent worshipping God! Don’t worry about creating the perfect page or messing up! It’s all about God! I know I sure had fun creating my pages with vegetables, and I definitely enjoyed my time in the Word. I think you will too if you give it a try!
So, let’s get to this tutorial! In the video below I talk about the mistakes I made and what I would do differently, so be sure to watch all the way through!
Vegetables Used
I used romaine lettuce, celery, a mushroom, corn (on the cob), and a potato. But there are so many other vegetables that you can use as well! Such as okra, brussel sprouts, peppers, or cauliflower, just to name a few!
Materials Used
ESV Interleaved Journaling Bible (It has full blank pages on every other page)
Tombow Fudenosuke Soft Tip Brush Pen (Link for the set of three types of Fudenosuke brush pens. I highly recommend all of them for beginner or advanced lettering!)
1/2″ flat paint brush
