To celebrate the three year anniversary of this Blog, I thought we could take a trip down memory lane! Here are just 20 Bible journaling ideas with tutorials out of over a hundred on the blog!

I decided I wanted to Bible journal Proverbs 16:9 which says, “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” (ESV).
I knew I wanted to do some kind of pathway to illustrate this verse, and then the memories of walking up to the beach popped into my mind. I did my best to describe my vision in the video, but I just couldn’t get the vision in my head out in words. I didn’t use a reference photo and just went for it. -
Do you know those new “reels” on Instagram? (If you don’t, it’s basically Instagram’s “TikTok”, of short and sweet 15 second videos.) Well, I posted one the other day that quickly showed some of my Bible journaling pages that I did my first year, and some of my more recent Bible journaling pages.
It’s a fun little video because you can so clearly see my artistic growth over the years! And so, I got a ton of feedback telling me how encouraging it was to see.

In today’s video, I show how I created a Bible journaling page by doing brush calligraphy with a small round paintbrush and watercolors. I also added some little flowers and leaves to dress it up. It was such a great time spent in the Word.

Of course, leaves are (usually) necessary in floral paintings. They make flowers look finished and natural. But leaves can also make up gorgeous paintings, or Bible journaling pages all on their own!

Way back in November 2017, just a couple of months after I started this blog, I did a post on how to paint super simple watercolor roses. It is still one of my most popular videos on YT and a post I’m really proud of.
But, that was almost three years ago! I have learned so much since then. So I thought I should do a little updated rose tutorial.

So over two years ago I did a tutorial on a watercolor forest and included a three-page free printable with it. I always loved that tutorial, though it didn’t get a ton of traction, and I totally forgot about it until recently!

Today I am painting some loose wildflowers using acrylic paints. I’m working on Hebrews 10:19-25. This paragraph just hit me right in the gut when I stumbled upon it. These current times we are in, with the Coronavirus, have been so tough, and I felt these verses to be so encouraging. Let us hold fast knowing the truth that we have eternal life because of Jesus. And even though with social distancing and staying home it is hard to meet together, let’s not neglect to connect in other ways and encourage each other! God is so faithful and we will continue to get through this together.
