I am not a drawer. When I started Bible journaling I never ever thought I was artistic. Over the last few years, I have learned how to paint. But I still don’t draw.
I love traceables because then I can just copy them into my Bible (like my deer, guitar, or watering can tutorials).
But I am a huge proponent to trying things that are new or out of our comfort zones! I think it’s SO IMPORTANT to not just stick to the things we know! Because we can’t learn new skills if we DONT TRY!
So, I bucked up my hesitation and picked up a micron pen and started doodling flower shapes. And quickly as I could. Not stopping for more than a second or thinking much at all about what I was doing. And you know what?! It turned out pretty darn cool!
I added some light watercolor to it and voila a beautiful Bible journaling page.
I encourage you to do the same and at least give it a try. BUT, I did decide to digitize my sketched flowers and give them to you as a free printable. Because I really want anyone to be able to create a page like this, so you can use mine as a guide/traceable (or use it for something else!)

I think creating pages like these, where you are forced to let go of perfectionism, create outside of your box, and enjoy the process and so important to do every now and then as Bible Journalers.
The biggest pitfall to Bible journaling is that is can be easy to get swept up in the art and creating the perfect page that we forget to focus on The Word and the verse/chapter we are working on!
This is detrimental because the whole point of Bible journaling is not to create the perfect page. It is to spend time with God, reading his Word, and worshiping him.
I chose “here I am, send me” because this page was my surrender of my art and my surrender to God.
