Watercolor Branches Bible Journaling Tutorial- Two-Page Spread

I was flipping through one of my first Journaling Bibles the other day (this one here) and I came upon one of my favorite Bible journaling pages, which was this two-page entry with watercolor branches. I did this page only a few months into Bible art journaling, and it was one of those pages that I was just sooo proud of. I’m still proud of it!

Since it has been over three years since I created my first watercolor branches two-page spread, I figured it was a good time to recreate it!

Simple Watercolor Desert Scene- Bible Journaling Tutorial With A Free Printable

Psalms 143:6 “I stretch out my hands to you;  my soul thirsts for you like a parched land.”

When I read this verse I knew I needed to journal it in my Bible. Of course, the first thing to pop into my mind was a desert. I decided to paint this desert scene and add some simple lettering. I felt like it was the perfect representation of this verse, and that helped me to stay focused on the Word while painting it. My soul thirsts for you Lord!

There are SO MANY ways that masking fluid can be used. Today I’m just showing a glimpse of it.

But I am a huge proponent to trying things that are new or out of our comfort zones! I think it’s SO IMPORTANT to not just stick to the things we know! Because we can’t learn new skills if we DONT TRY!

So, I bucked up my hesitation and picked up a micron pen and started doodling flower shapes. And quickly as I could. Not stopping for more than a second or thinking much at all about what I was doing. And you know what?! It turned out pretty darn cool!

Beginner Friendly Bible Journaling- Q-tip Dot Painting

A while ago I did a four week series on Bible journaling with household objects. I Bible journaled using things like forks, bubble wrap, and even vegetables! I also did a few pages using q-tips!
Q-tips are so much fun to use to create art! They are cheap and easy to use, and there is actually a surprising amount of things you can do with them! The most obvious way to use them is to create dots!
