With 4th of July just around the corner I thought it would be fun to paint the American flag in my Bible!
I know I have a bunch of followers from other countries, (thanks so much for following) so in that case, I hope this might inspire you to paint your own country’s flag! And if you didn’t know, the 4th of July is when Americans celebrate Independence Day and the founding of our country.
I made this flag super simple and easy. I purposely made it a little loose and not perfect (it sort of represents how our country isn’t perfect). So it’s not an exact replica of the American flag, but you get the idea!
I am so thankful to live in a free country where I can express my faith and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The verse I decided to paint my flag on was 1 Peter 2:16 which says: “Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves.”- Of course, the American Flag has nothing to do with the context of this verse. I’m not trying to change the meaning of the verse or anything- I just happened to be reading 1 Peter and came upon the verse and figured it would be a good page to paint the flag on. I see the art on this page as a separate thing just to commemorate the holiday and going-ons in my life while studying this part of the scripture. If that makes sense.
