I’ve been painting some more acrylic floral pages in my interleaved Bible lately and my sweet social media followers have been really loving them! I posted today’s “Bible journaling with me” page the other day and got tons of requests to do a tutorial on it. Thankfully I filmed it, so that is what I am going to share with you today!
I was also told that the Bible journaling page looks “vintage” so that is what I am calling it!
In the video below I do my best to share exactly how I did this Acrylic vintage page, but it sure is hard to fit all the information I want to share into a 13-minute video! (I was trying to make it even shorter because I feel that my shorter videos usually get viewed more, but I would love your input. Do you often watch videos that are over 15 minutes, or do you feel that that is too long? Let me know in the comments!)
However, I do have a ton of other tutorials that can help explain how to create the different elements of this page!

- ESV Interleaved Journaling Bible– Leather Cover (The one I am using)
- ESV Interleaved Journaling Bible-Cloth cover
- ESV Interleaved Journaling Bible– Imitation leather cover
- Acrylic Paints– The link is for a pack of Apple Barrel paints that I love, but it does not include all the colors I used. I recommend just getting your paints at Walmart or the craft store, it’s much cheaper too. You can use any brand of acrylics, though I do prefer a matte acrylic over gloss to prevent stickiness.
- Tombow Fudenosuke Brush Pen
- 1/2″ Flat and Small round paintbrush– I don’t use any specific brand, I get synthetic brushes in value packs from the craft store
- Craft Heat Gun
PAINT COLORS I USED: Territorial Beige, Antique Parchment, English Ivy Green, Barn Red, Sunkissed Peach, Honeysuckle Pink
Tips and Notes
-I used my ESV Interleaved Journaling Bible, which has full blank pages for every other page. If you don’t have that Bible, you can make a tip-in or scale it down to fit the margins of the Bible you do have!
-Painting with acrylics in the Bible can be intimidating, but acrylics are really one of the best Bible journaling supplies to use! You don’t have to prep your page in order to use them (I don’t prep with any of the supplies I use) because THEY DON’T BLEED THROUGH. In fact, they can act as a page prep on their own! Meaning, you can use inks and supplies that normally would bleed through on top of acrylics and it will stop them from bleeding. Acrylics are just great, so I hope you will give them a shot!
