Watercolor Leaves Tutorial- Plus A Free Printable

Hi friend! I have another video Bible journaling tutorial for you today!

We are going to do a Bible page filled with watercolor leaves.

Leaves are fun and simple to do, and they always just look so dang pretty! A little greenery goes a long way!- But I think the hardest part of this page is figuring out what types of shapes you can do!

So, I created a free printable for you guys to have! It has a bunch of different leaf shapes that you can trace (like I do in the video) or use as a coloring page (and maybe make a tip-in out of it) or any other way you can think of! No sign-ups necessary.

*Note, you can totally use this printable to create something totally different than the tutorial I have for you today! Maybe do a watercolor rose, and one of these leaves! So many fun ideas come to mind!*

There are a lot of variations you can do for this page. You can use any medium you feel comfortable with, and can easily keep it just to the margins if you don’t want to cover up the text! You can change up the colors, or maybe just use one color throughout! If you are using watercolor, you can also change up the amount of water to paint ratio to either have very vibrant leaves or pretty muted leaves. As always, have fun with it and enjoy the process!

I decided to cut all the leaves out and arrange them under my page. I then used them as a tracing guideline and painted my leaves following the shapes! Made it easy and fun! Of course, if you feel confident freehanding your leave shapes, I encourage you to do that!

Now, the last couple months I have been blessed to be a part of Living By Design Ministries‘ creative team. The non-profit is lead by my friend Sarah Koontz, and it’s all about providing free resources to help Christian women explore God’s plan for them. Sarah and the Ministry have recently launched a new free online Bible study about the life of King Solomon called Wisdom Whispers.
